DANAK's Advisory Committee - Environment (Certification)

Purpose and members

The committee provides DANAK with guidance on matters regarding fundamental principles of certification of environmental management systems and accreditation to environmental verification (EMAS).

Within the above-mentioned field the Committee may:

  • discuss requirements for accreditation and matters concerning the operation of the accreditation scheme;
  • comment on draft proposals for requirements documents, technical regulations, guidelines and EA documents;
  • discuss the interpretations of specific requirements;
  • discuss special requirements in connection with public authority requirements;
  • assist in disseminating knowledge concerning accreditation and DANAK.
  • discuss conditions in relation to certification of occupational health and energy management systems where appropriate (Environment certification and EMAS verification)

Members are nominated by the stakeholders listed below:

  • The Danish Environmental Protection Agency, register authority for EMAS;
  • The Danish Environmental Protection Agency, environmental control;
  • The Danish Energy Authority;
  • The Danish Confederation of Trade Unions, LO;
  • Local Government Denmark (LGDK);
  • Danish Industry;
  • Danish Regions;
  • The Danish Agricultural Forum;
  • Accredited environmental certification bodies/environmental verifiers

Proposals for consideration

Accredited bodies and others with an interest in this field may propose questions for consideration in the committee. Please, contact the committee secretary for further information regarding proposal of questions:
