EC-verification of non-automatic weighing instruments is performed by bodies notified by the EEA member states. In Denmark 5 Danish bodies are notified in this field.

EC-product verification of instruments under MID is performed by bodies notified by the EEA member states. In Denmark 2 bodies are notified in this field.

Initial verification of other measuring instruments than the above mentioned and reverification of all instruments:
Laboratories approved in the relevant fields by The Danish Accreditation and Metrology Fund perform initial verification of other measuring instruments than those mentioned above and reverification of all instruments. Only accredited calibration laboratories can achieve approval. Verification is ordered and paid for by the owner / user of the instrument.

Approval of Manufacturers Quality Management System referring to Declaration of Conformity.
As an alternative to the EC-product verification the manufacturers can be approved to declare conformity. For such an approval the manufacturer must have a quality management system approved by a notified body. Denmark has 2 notified bodies in this field:
